"Vanitas" takes its inspiration from the tradition of the Vanitas still life. The Vanitas depicts the transience of life, the futility of pleasure, and the certainty of death. Sounds like a bummer, granted, but also a treasure trove of beautiful art and literature to be found there over the last few millennia.

Composed of close-ups of flowers inspired by Dutch old master paintings, the flowers possess a stark, rich beauty that emerges from a black background, pairing well with a variety of colors and looks.
